Bathrooms can be one of the hardest rooms to organize because of their small size and general lack of available space. However, there are many ways you can maximize the area you have to keep your bathroom neat and functional. Today we look at bathroom storage ideas and organizing tips which can keep your bathroom neat, clean and gorgeous!

Bathroom Storage Ideas

  • Get a back-of-door hanging organizer: These tools come in a variety of styles and colors so that you can find one that fits seamlessly into your bathroom decor. The multiple pockets are out of the way but always in reach, and hidden from sight when the door is open.
  • Make use of vertical space with hooks: In small bathrooms with limited square footage, most of the free room is on the walls. Take advantage of bare walls by mounting hooks to the walls with hardware or adhesive strips like Command hooks for lighter loads. Immediately, towels and robes are ready for use and kept off of shelves.
  • Over-the-door shelf unit: Few people consider the space above their door when looking to add a shelf unit, but this is a great piece of unused real estate for spare towels and sheets. It’s particularly useful if your linen closet is small (or nonexistent). Just make sure to have a stool nearby to reach up there when you need to!
  • Contain your clutter: It makes sense to have often-used items like toothbrushes, hand soap and cotton balls out on the counter; however, these items tend to spread out to where they cover the counter haphazardly. To keep them from looking messy and taking up unnecessary space, get a small tray that you can place them. This is an easy way to group the objects for a neat and organized appearance.
  • Lazy susans aren’t just for serving meals: Bathroom storage can be rejuvenated by repurposing one of these small kitchen accessories. A lazy susan makes a great rotating organizer in your below-sink cabinets. You’ll never have to go digging for cleaning supplies at the back of your cabinets again.
  • Shower caddies have grown up: Shower caddies store shower essentials on the wall or suspended from a curtain rod so that the tub edges are kept free and clean. It’s particularly helpful if your colored soaps, conditioners, and hair dyes tend to cause staining on your white tubs.
  • Magnetic strips keep small daily essentials close by. We’ve all been there–digging through bags and cabinets for a stray bobby pin or set of nail clippers. With a magnetic strip attached to the wall next to a mirror or below your medicine cabinet, these small items are easily found and stored every time.
  • Bar carts look great in your bathroom: You can clear off some counter space by moving toiletries to the top of the cart, and get more out of your vanity storage by keeping extra toilet paper and towels on the lower racks. Just be sure to apply a clear sealant to any bare metal surfaces on your cart to prevent rust formation from the bathroom’s high humidity levels.
  • The backs of your cabinet doors are a great asset. Mount containers or small hooks to the back of closet doors and medicine cabinets to store small items like makeup, tweezers, toothpaste, spray bottles, dust pans, and more.If you are ready to move beyond bathroom storage and into bathroom renovation, call the professionals at West Coast Design Build Florida.
